Biography

Doug Elliott joined PNNL in 1991 and has been with the lab's Portland office since 1998. Doug has participated in a variety of projects focused mainly in the areas of energy policy, resource efficiency, cost-benefit and regulatory analysis, and software development.

Currently, Doug supports the Building Energy Analysis Program through the development of the BEAMS software, which estimates energy, financial, and external impacts associated with DOE building energy programs. As part of this effort, he has focused on quantifying the indirect water impacts of buildings' energy efficiency. Other projects have included: financial and GIS analysis of renewable energy projects on DoD lands; an analysis of the utility and consumer impacts of plug-in hybrid vehicles; and the Save Water and Energy Education Program (SWEEP). Over the past several years, Doug has also performed numerous life-cycle cost analyses, involving the evaluation and selection of optimal energy and water efficiency strategies and technologies for various facilities.
